Backup Procedures:
1. Follow appropriate database backup procedures.
Note: If your database server doesn't handle live backups you should schedule Lighthouse downtime to accomplish the full backup.
2. Follow appropriate application server backup procedures.
3. During the upgrade process, it is suggested that you back up the lighthouse directory in addition to the database backup.
Disaster Recovery:
1. Shut down Lighthouse
2. Follow application server recovery procedures
If there are problems with the lighthouse package, you can reinstall Lighthouse and patches. If you resort to this, remember to restore your site customizations as well.
3. Follow database recovery procedures
Rollback Procedures:
1. This is completely database based. A good daily backup media rotation will provide a rollback strategy.
2. Shut down lighthouse
3. Restore the repository to the desired version
4. Restart lighthouse
